Music possesses an incredible power to unite people from diverse backgrounds. Most recently, MMVC experienced this firsthand when we had the privilege of singing alongside another choir consisting of individuals with learning disabilities.
Our past performances with the SWALLOW Choir have always been a special experience for us, and this occasion was no exception as we once again witnessed the Swallow Choir pouring their hearts into their performance.
We were pleased too, to help with their concert and together we raised over £800 for the work of this amazing local charity.
SWALLOW exists to make sure that teenagers and adults with learning disabilities live the lives they choose through user led support.
The organisation was established in 1993 by people with learning disabilities and a group of supporters who worked tirelessly to develop a new way of meeting people's needs; to provide an alternative to day centres and residential homes. Over the years they have developed their services in response to the wishes of their members. Their aim is to help as many people as they can with the resources that they have.
